Corona Races
Hey, guy, lets do some Corona Races when we are bored at home!!!!
Re: Corona Races
sure let's do it!
question is: who's the host?
David, would you help out..?
(My suggestion would be to have a 'special' format and/or track..)

Let's spread the message like a virus

Re: Corona Races
I have actually done a bit of brainstorming & even some testing but just not the time to report on it.
So if this is going to happen, I throw this on the table.
If the intention is to have a rather quick race/event:
'Autodromo de Punta Fría'
It is rather compact (quick to learn the layout) yet it has it's challenges and it's not too small. There is overtaking opportunity.
I would think that it's rather something new to most people, let alone having raced here.
If the intention is to have a rather evening-filling event:
Nurburgring Wet!
After the Long night of the Ring, many called out to do it again during the year. So this would fulfill that wish, yet have it's distinct character as it's own special event.
We could do 7x2 laps or even just 7x1 lap with endless shift-r and an optional race at the end of 7 (?) laps w/o shift-r much similar to the LNotR.
At any rate imho it should be much quicker than LNotR as not to shy away people. I don't think we would want to take this "all" night... no?
Pros:
- Familiar yet new
- rather challenging to drive!
should produce a number of spins and thus nice chaotic race.
hehe.
Cons:
- "Aliens" will by and large probably profit as I expect them to struggle less (but hey, it's about participating and for the fun)
- if in deed we make it similar like Long Night of the Ring, it requires a host that knows how to use the grid tool and wants to commit to keep track [I wouldn't just assume that David wants to be the host]
Maybe if we can agree quickly we could even use the easter holidays and really have a wholesome evening for this!
Responses?
cheers

Re: Corona Races
I would welcome a bigger event (or mini-championship) with different tracks (7?). I'd be happy to include this track, but we can leave Nurburgring just for December (however wet)
First of all, we need to inform everyone somehow. Just few people noticed.

Re: Corona Races
Hi everyone,
I hope you are doing well.
I would like to host two races on May 3rd. One on Zandvoort, one on another track. At the moment I thinking about Adelaide by Jim Pierson. Track directory: Adelaide.
Registration is not needed, but of course I like to know if you're interested

- May 3rd 2020
- 19:30h CET
- iGOR
- two races
- short qualifying session per race
- 15 laps per race
- INT mode
- 60 fps
- chassis choice is free
Best regards,
David
Re: Corona Races
hi!
sounds like a plan.
iirc
Adelade was a bit prone to freezes...?
(both versions..? I don't remember..
)
Only 15 laps, so we could take the chance.
