Race 1 BRM - After the start it was like Moses opened the sea, when there was a massive startcrash that I could avoid. I was immediately in P3, and was able to pass Quentin before the Nordkehre, P2. Lasse A. was leading, but had a problem at Adenauer Forst. From then on I had the lead and cruised to the finish, P1! :Brm

Race 2 Honda - This was a real cracker. Again I was able to avoid the trouble after the start, from then onwards I was trailing Sanjin'; and Lasse O. was hounding me on Lap 1 in the Cooper, I just managed to hold him off. I had a great fight with Sanjin on Lap 2, we passed eachother a few times at the end of the lap, which was fun, and finally I got the position. Lasse Albrecht, who was leading, was blinking a lot. I was following him quite close, but it was scary when he disappearred all the time. Then at some point he discoed. Bad luck. Great race, but a lucky win in the end. :Honda

Race 3 Cooper - In this race I was mostly behind Lasse O., who ran the Honda. Lasse ran a great race, with great pace. I stayed close, but in the final lap I had a halfspin at Schwalbenschwanz, and had to let him go. P2, still a nice result, and a nice hunt. :Cooper

Race 4 Brabham - This was the race with the wrong grid. That was my luck as I had a good start. But I still had some hairy moments on Lap 1, notably doing a 360 at the Caroussel. Greg was behind me and had great pace in the Ferrari, so there was no room for more errors. On Lap 2 finally my first sub8 of the evening, a 7m56, rounding it off with a 7m55 in the final lap. Solid race, after a difficult Lap 1 getting used to the Brab. :Brabham

Race 5 Ferrari - On Lap 1 lost some time to get through the field, but after Lasse O. had spun, I was in P2 and trying to close the gap with Lasse A, who was 6s up the road. On Lap 2 I was able to make the gap smaller, but not by much. In the final lap I did set a 7m52ish lap, but still only gained a second. That was an awesome drive by Lasse A. holding me off and denying me another win. :Ferrari

Race 6 Eagle - This was my worst race, mostly due to a catastrofic Lap 1. Got stuck in traffic, made a mistake trying to avoid, and also got collected. First and only Shift-R of the evening. Lost too much time to recover, and despite a decent Lap 2 and 3, only was able to get back to P4, after a mistake from Greg. :Eagle

Race 7 Lotus - Again avoiding most trouble at the start, and soon i was in the top 3. Lasse O. blew up (not his luckiest night) and I tried to make a move on Quentin out of Aremberg, but he did not see me I think, there was slight side-by-side contact, and I was lucky to continue. Sorry Quentin! Then I had clear space, and was able to pull away from Sanjin behind me, and gaining on Lasse A. who was leading. Lap 2 was real quality, with great pace from both Lasse A. and myself. Sadly on Lap 3 Lasse A. made a mistake and spun, that cost me also some time, and I knew I could not improve on the laptime anymore, so I chose to cruise to the finish and take the win! :Lotus

All in all a very enjoyable and fun evening. I had some great racing, and was very happy that the racing was clean for most part, from my perspective. Also I was happy with my performances, trying to avoid mistakes, and keeping it on track. Also I was lucky at times, just the Eagle race was a bit unlucky. Congrats to Lasse O. for P2 in the standings, and Sanjin for P3!

Special mention to Lasse A, who was very unlucky at times, but showed his class. Thanks for the challenges you gave me in the Ferrari and Lotus! :)

Thanks all for competing, and a major thanks to David for organizing this event! :daumenrauf:

Thanks David for organizing and hosting. Your email reminded me of the event and then seeing the practice server reminded me again after I had forgotten.

Congrats Robert, Lassë, and Sanjin!

I´m glad I didn´t miss it. I wasn´t feeling well but I figured at least I can make it a nice ride through the German countryside. It was a lot better than that. My luck wasn´t good but I expect a lot of contact now. Any frustration I get from that was gone after my first 2 or 3 Ringnachts. This was my most enjoyable Ringnacht yet. I showed myself I can still run close to my fastest laps. I got some great Lotus practice. I almost broke into the 7:59s with the Ferrari, Lotus, and Eagle. I´m happy with anything under 8:04 now, and I got some ideas for my setups.

I got a new personal best in the Lotus. :) I still haven´t broke the 8 minute mark, but I ran 3 laps faster than my old best of 8:00.9. I might have got an overall personal fastest lap in the Eagle if I hadn´t wrecked Lassë at the schikane. I had 3 fast sectors showing at 7:58.34 on the last lap. Lassë passed me when I slid wide at Schwalbenschwanz then I repassed him on the straight. The rear broke loose exiting the schikane and I couldn´t catch it. I gave it some throttle trying hold it against the left guard rail hoping Lassë could get around me on the right. He got caught in the mess. That lap was the most fun even with the ugly end. My apologies Lassë.

The Honda and BRM were sliding too much when I lifted off the throttle. I have to try to fix that. The Eagle and the Brabham felt horrible at times. The first half lap in the Eagle was terrible. I was surprised I had it going as well as I did on the last lap. The Cooper, Ferrari, and Lotus all felt good and I enjoyed driving the Ferrari and Lotus. I had a lot of trouble with Schwalbenschwanz and Nordkehre. I was well into the Grand Prix before I thought I was driving the Nordkehre well.

Thanks for the fun gentlemen and thanks for letting me race.
