Solitude - 15.02.2026 - Round 2

Post by Olaf Lehmann » 01 Feb 2026, 14:59

Attention: In original track.ini the last pitstalls are in hayballs!

track.ini with wider grid and more distance between pitstalls:
http://race.eolc.de/Olaf_Lehmann/trackiniSOLI.zip

Don't forget: We use INT mode. If you get stuck in hay bales, land on the roof, or lose a wheel...you can press ShiftR and continue the race...

Good racing for everyone
Olaf

Hi André!

Server is missing since a few days.
And for remembering: Since about autumn 2025 only the halv of the bottom line is visible, see arrows in png file.

Maybe you can correct this for the next streams?

Good evening Gentlemen,

I have raced with HIES some year ago for some races and I recognised that this league is very demanding and challanging. Now I would like to repeat the experiment and participate the races in this environment, starting with the tomorow race at Solitude.
For this purpose I have the following questions to ask:
1) Schedule of the race,
2) In which way the password for the server will be communicated ?
3) I remember that the Patch Dirtgear is very difficult to manage during the race, because of the tyre wearing: for this purpose I'd like to know if there are some particular driving attitude to follow to maitain an acceptable handling of the car and possibly some suggestions in the car setup, in order to save as much as possible the handling properties of the car reasonably up to the end of race.

Thanks in advance for your feedback, see you tomorrow.

Kind Regards
Roberto

Hi Robert,

1) Our events start at 20:00 MEZ, in summer MESZ. Time intervall between races three weeks (except in summer). Calendar see GPLWeekly or F1HistoricEsports.com
2) We use the same password for all races. I`ll send you an pm here.
3) It is difficult to give a short answer that applies in all circumstances, because every driver has a different driving style and because every route causes different levels of wear and tear. In addition, on some routes, wear and tear is greater at the front than at the rear, or vice versa. In the first case, the car simply slows down, while in the second case, it becomes dangerous due to greater oversteering.
Ultimately, you have to try it out. You probably only learn to adjust to it gradually...
Another difficulty is the dirty tyres you get when driving over sand/grass. Under certain circumstances, it can take up to 2 km for them to regain normal grip.
In the patch's programme folder, there is a special Pribluda that displays tyre wear values. The more yellow the values become, the dirtier the tyres are. The numerical values represent the wear. For me, it becomes difficult when the values rise above 80, especially when the rear values are significantly higher than the front ones.

I know that my patch is difficult and would like to make it at least a little easier for you to get started...
One more thing I recommend to newbies: practise pit stops before the race, because you'll definitely need one on this difficult track. In the stress of the race, it's not easy to stop in the right place if you haven't tried it before. I still do a test stop in qualifying before the race myself.
And don't forget: reverse gear means repair, every other gear tyre change.
And don't forget we're driving in INT mode, you can do ShiftR (you definitely won't be the only one who needs it ;) ).

Good luck, Roberto!

Because usually I forget the details of such long tracks like Solitude after two years I start praticing for sure one week before the race. But had this track in mind and could race after ten minutes some laps without crashing. So I postponed my practise for some days.
On Sunday I drove 10 laps without really problems. So I thought I had a chance for a good result...if other drivers make mistakes.
Unfortunately in second lap I crashed into André which was standing in the middle of the track accross the track. I had a big of microsleep at this moment and failed to react. Both (André and me) damaged their cars and engines. I made ShiftR, lost my third gear for the rest of the race (after all, I managed 3:38.xx without third gear) and visited my box to repair the engine failure due to ShiftR.
Some laps later I saw my fuel values was red coloured. Only five litres after five laps. Not before this moment I understand that my tank had leaked at the massive crash (I suspect the same thing happened to André, but he lost all fuel and was stranded - this is one of the very rare cases where you cannot continue driving even in INT mode in dgp - my recommendation if it was so, André ;( ). So I had to make another stop for refueling and decided to change the tires earlier in the race.
Unfortunately, I had another mental lapse in lap 9 or 10 and had to repair again.
Short before the end I won the last podium place because of problems Robertos, which performed very well after a long break from hard dgp.

A hint to Roberto: I had seen you made a stop in the last laps this way: You stopped at your pitstall and made ShiftR. That`s not the right way. In this case of ShiftR you get penalties (reduced engine power and a gear failure).
You have to stop and wait 15 seconds for the second bump. Only in this case the car all will be repaired (except gear failure if you had made ShiftR before).

Grats Rainer - all time winner 2026 (Will it stay so that way for the whole year?) and Björn!

Always drama on Solitude, a fierce course and can be considered one of the favorites. Demanding and partly fast.

For me one of the better races. At the start, I completely missed what the rpm actually was, shifted up too early and had incredibly poor acceleration with the Honda. Three cars passed me then, but I had hope of being able to make up for some of what was lost. On lap two I got close enough and had the opportunity to pass Seb on the straight before the hotel. Afterwards the mass crash in front of us suddenly appeared, with a little luck we managed to avoid it. After that I was back in position two. Then it was just about keeping the car on the road and getting to the finish, which was beyond expectations. Lost a few seconds during pit stops, but there were good margins in this race.

Congratulations Rainer for a solid win. Congratulations also to Olaf for joining us on the podium. Great to see Roberto again, well driven on Solitude with dgp after a break from the previous race. Too bad André had to retire and afterwards Seb too.

See you all in Balcarce
