Me, again...
OK, John. I tried testing on the server. Unfortunately, I find it difficult to tear off a front wheel - and only one. Either the wheel stayed on or I lost a rear wheel too, so I couldn't get to the pits.
then I tested in training mode. You can use ShiftR in this mode. All (partial) repairs worked, regardless of whether the front or rear wheels were torn off.
I then started my own server in INT mode. There all repairs worked without any problems too.
It seems that the problem only occurs for online clients. So I need a server in INT mode that I can access with my patch. Unfortunately it will be a while before I can try this out...

Thanks Olaf, I will try not to crash for the remainder of the season.
Probably for discussion at seasons end but if you do find something and it is related to the partial repair logic......
Personally I would be happy to lose this feature. I loved the idea when it was 1st announced but after using it I think it just makes life more difficult than it needs to be. I like the revised tyre wear during a race but I do think the increased wear off track is an unnecessary addition as several off track excursions can result in extra pit stops which means even a minor error completely ruins your race. I think the "recovery" of the tyre back to Green should take longer as a compromise.
Just thinking out loud..

Next test report:
I have produced a special version of dgp841 which can join normal 60fps servers.
I joined UKGPL server. It runs in INT mode. I produced loosing wheels (front and rear and both) and made ShiftR...and it worked like it should.
After that I was driven to my pit and made stop. I stand for 30s and all worked like it should. So I could't produce the problem.
