Code: Select all
I'm not sure what the different is with int mode. But let's test it. I will set up the test server with int mode.[Code]
In concrete terms, this means
1. with ShiftR, the performance of the engine is noticeably reduced. This forces you to make a pit stop after the ShiftR. And that means a double repair stop (with a single repair, the engine still has a slight loss of power).
2. if you have lost a wheel, you have a broken tire on this wheel, which you have to change in the pits.
3. and the very special thing about dgp INT mode (which I miss): You get a gear problem. The 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th gear gets the same gear ratio as the next higher gear. So you are missing a gear (you have a “speed gap”)
The gear problem is not repaired in the pits.
Experience has shown that the time lost due to the gear problem is less than you think - depending on the gear, estimated at 1s per lap. I can remember an EOLC race in which Alien Carsten Theile had to do 2x ShiftR, so he lost two gears and still finished just ahead of me.
Most people think the problem is the loss of time. But the really difficult thing is to adjust to a missing low gear. Sometimes you can't get through some corners without changing the braking point.
But to clarify: Only those who do ShiftR get the gear problem...
Well...I think you were just too good, André. With other points it probably wouldn't have looked any different. What do we think about the points this season? I think the championship was concluded to early. Even if it's not as fair, we might consider going back to the old points scale.
But if the INT mode were to be used, it would be good if more than 6 people got points, because then more people could see the chequered flag.
