1955 mod is out!

(Hint: prior to installing the mod make sure you have installed all the tracks mentioned in the readme. That'll save you a bit work later,
Tipp: am besten die im Readme aufgelisteten Strecken VOR dem Mod schon installiert haben. Das erspart später Arbeit.)

Re: 1955 mod
Thanks for your post, Fabian
I installed it today and did some laps at the Ring and Buenos Aires.
EOLC will use the 1955 mod on September 10th at Targa Florio
Regards,
David

Re: 1955 mod
Looks fantastic
Re: 1955 mod
you know what?
it might be fun to do a fun-event with 1955 mod in Indy !
for example on 4th of June (if no collision with other leagues)
because everything is new, maybe we should make it a one-chassis race..?? maybe even a "fixed" setup
(it's difficult for every driver to come up with a reasonable setup when "everything" is new, so maybe fixed setup will keep frustration levels low)
just an idea...
PS: number of laps depending on laptimes but 100 laps would be a nice goal (if not too long)

On June 4th there's a Challenge Cup race at Brands Hatch.Fabian wrote: it might be fun to do a fun-event with 1955 mod in Indy !

Maybe we can choose June 18th or July 2nd for this fun event?
Regards,
David

Re: 1955 mod
thanks for the investigation, David. It's a bit of a shame, I liked the race to be more close to the real life event... but then again maybe it would have been on too short notice..
I happen to just done some testing. ( http://gplrank.schuerkamp.de/php-pub/us ... class_id=1 )
At the moment I envision the following:
2 Races each 25 laps (PRO), 15min quali (25 laps = 30 minutes racetime)
Car: Fixed! >>> Lancia
Setup: Fixed! >>> 1 setup is available (maybe Kelvin or someone can inprove it so the driving is maximum fun)
Very few settings will be allowed to be adjusted individually (Steering lock, brake balance come to mind - not that brakes will be used anyway )
After the two races there will be a bonus race of 50 laps (60min racetime) for those who still don't have enough (similar long night of the ring)
Car and setups should be fixed imho because the mod is too new to most and we don't want people get frustrated because of bad setup. If it's bad, then for all
Car should be fixed because similar, the mod is too new and people might pick a disadvatagous car and get frustrated, also people will tend to pick the "cheater car of the mod" which is boring. And also I don't want the "sportscar" Mercedes to be picked. This is damn open wheel!
whacha think?

Re: 1955 mod
by the way. The pole time of 1955 was 1min04,29 and the fastest lap in the race 1min03,67.Fabian wrote: http://gplrank.schuerkamp.de/php-pub/us ... class_id=1 )
So 1min04,35 is pretty neat "realism"
(ofc it's just a mind game. Times are ofc not comparable as they did not use F1-cars at the time. I know that....)
